Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to get started?
You’ll need at least one Bullet camera and a video recorder. If you already own a recording device which supports AV-IN (Line-In) recording, all you need is one of our complete camera kits.
Your Bullet cameras all look the same, what are the differences?
Externally, they are all the same dimensions and have the same great weatherproof features. However, internally they use different CCD imagers. The CCD is the single most important component in a camera, and will affect overall picture quality quite visibly. Higher specs CCD imagers cost more to manufacture, but also produce superior results.
How strong is the Velcro that holds the Anti-vibration mount?
Strong enough to hold a camera on your helmet while you are skydiving, or riding a 1000cc Superbike at speeds over 300 kph. The sticky side is incredibly adhesive, but still is removable without damaging the surface under, just by peeling it off.
Can I use the Anti-vibration mount other than on a helmet?
Yes, the mount can be used just about anywhere you can stick a strip a Velcro on!
You are offering two different DVR systems, which one is right for me?
It depends on what you intend to do with the final footage. For making movies and video editing, the Bullet DVR is a better choice, mainly because it offers full D1 broadcast resolution and mpeg-2 capability. But if you need a system to take with you on the road, and allow you to playback videos instantly, the Mini DVR is better suited for the task, with its built-in 2.5” LCD screen and playback functions.
Can I still record videos on the Mini DVR and transfer them to a computer?
Yes, although the video quality of the Mini DVR is optimized for playback on its built-in screen, or on another television using the supplied AV-OUT cable.
Can I still use the Bullet DVR if I don’t have a computer?
After your videos are recorded, you will need a Windows PC computer to playback your recordings. The Bullet DVR system can record in two different file types. Mpeg-2 and Mpeg-4 DivX types, both of which are intended for computers. Playback to a TV or monitor is not supported at present.
Can I use the LANC remote with any video recorder?
You can use it with any LANC compatible camcorder, or with the Bullet DVR. The Mini DVR does not support this feature.
I need a rearview system for backing up my 18-wheeler truck, can you help?
Check out our AV-2 Control box and matching monitor. We sell a lot of these to RV owners and truck drivers who need to see where they are going when backing up.
