The Multi-Cam DVR boasts the same technology as the smaller Solo DVR, featuring the same specifications for video format and quality. However there are a few notable differences, mainly that the Multi-Cam does not have a built-in battery like the Solo unit, and needs to be powered off a 12V source. It is commonly used in cars, motorcycles and other vehicles, which have their own 12V battery to power up the system. It also comes with a hard mounting bracket for the DVR, made for use under race conditions. The Multi-Cam also has three video inputs instead of only one on the Solo DVR, with a wide range of Picture-in-Picture screen configurations. We usually recommend the Multi-Cam as the system of choice for motorsports applications, and the Solo for all other types of sports where the DVR needs to be body worn.
